Last Friday, we celebrated Easter by dying some eggs. We mixed some colors and decorated our eggs. We all bought our eggs home at the end of the day.
Happy Easter everyone!
Mr. Oliver P. came to our class again! We made a story about living in the jungle. We all acted out including Mr. Grumpy Bear.
In the story, we all went to the jungle and meet different animals. We had to decide what animal we were going to be. these were aour choices:
Cesca chose to be a swan, Dominic chose to be a dinosaur, Jessica chose to be an elephant, Ethan chose to be a koala and Matson chose to be an octopus.
After choosing the animals, we all had to act the part! We displayed our wings to fly when we pretended to be swans. We roared loudly when being a dinosaur . We moved our trunks as elephants. We climbed trees when pretending to be koalas, and we swam like octopuses moving our tentacles.
We had a great time with Oliver and we learned so much about dramatization.
This morning Oliver P. came to our class. He came all the way from Sydney (Australia) to KK! He brought his best friend with him, Mr. Grumpy Bear. Oliver tough us the Grumpy Dance. Then, he read us a story called "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carl. The Grumpy Bear and all of us listened to the story very attentively. Grumpy Bear got very hungry after listening to the story, so each of us chose a piece of food to feed him. After that, Oliver asked us to draw a picture of Grumpy Bear.
Oliver and Grumpy Bear promised to come back to our class again. We can't wait to see what will he bring.
We listen to Oliver very attentively.
Oliver lives in Sydney, Australia. He took a six-hours flight to get here!
We all did the Grumpy Bear Dance!
Oliver read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". Grumpy Bear sat next to him.
Grumpy Bear is still hungry!! We need to feed him right away.
Last Friday, all Pre-K4 measured their height in different ways. We built a tower with some blocks then we measured. We had a lots of fun with the building blocks! We had to be very careful and made sure that our blocks were properly stacked .
During this unit we have learned how to document our personal histories. We were introduced to the concept of past, present and future by making timelines. We created timelines of our life and place the following events in the right order: birth (baby), toddler and present. Looking at our timeline, we could see how we have changed physically and emotionally from birth until now.
In pre-K we explore letter sounds in many different ways! We use music, sand, play dough and paint. Learning the sounds helps us decode and make simple VCV words!
Matson is making the /i/ sound with play dough.
Ethan makes the /s/ sound in the sand.
Jessica is doing a great job at drawing the sound /a/ and letter A.
Chesca makes a collage of words starting with the /t/ sound using different materials!
Dominic looks for sounds while reading a story about dinosaur.
